About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer to join our award-winning team at J. Murphy & Sons Limited. As a key member of our multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, you will play a crucial role in delivering safe, practical, and economic designs for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of design projects, ensuring compliance with company procedures, recognized standards, and current legislation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including National Gas Transmission and Cadent, to understand their Electrical and Instrumentation Specifications and Standards.
  • Collaborate with the design team to provide design consultancy services throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Participate in and manage the successful delivery of Formal Process Safety Assessments, including DSEAR, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Determination and Verification, and functional Safety Assessments.
  • Interface with other departments and project teams to ensure design requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Measurement and Control, or working towards chartership.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas sector and familiarity with the IGEM Suite of standards for Gas Pipeline and Installations and metering.
  • Knowledge of National and International Compressor Station and Pipeline codes.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills and experience in feasibility, conceptual, and detailed design.
