Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Blue Arrow - Newbury. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Verify all received goods against orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and proper logging of delivery notes/invoices in the kitchen journal.
  • Culinary Expertise: Acquire proficiency in the use of kitchen equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Utilize the daily tracker to prepare the day's food using standardized recipes.
  • Quality Control: Guarantee that food is prepared, cooked, and served on time, meeting quality standards and adhering to recipe specifications and portion sizes.
  • Inventory Management: Record and restock any additional items used, as needed.
  • Event Support: Provide support in preparing food for events, as required.
  • Health and Safety: Keep all HACCP/Security documentation up to date, including temperature logs and equipment checks.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the Catering Manager on the upcoming menu and adhere to the daily tracker guidelines.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Contribute to the cleaning of work areas, storage spaces, utensils, and equipment when needed.
  • Customer Service: Address customer feedback or complaints in accordance with company policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Observe Health & Safety regulations, Fire policies, and report any potential hazards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the volunteer team in the kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a CDP or similar.
  • Culinary Skills: Knowledge of a range of cooking methods and skills.
  • Passion for Fresh Food: A passion for fresh food.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt and learn new skills.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive attitude.
  • Teamwork: Good teamwork.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Knowledge of Food and safety as well as food hygiene.
