Role Overview: As a Community Education Instructor, you will oversee the implementation of designated educational programs within the institution, ensuring the delivery of exceptional instruction while managing daily operational tasks, assessments, and scheduling. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a uniform approach across various locations as necessary.

Student Engagement: Your mission will be to inspire and engage learners through exemplary teaching practices that challenge and motivate them to achieve their highest potential.


Passion for Education: Instructors are expected to demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for their subject area and a commitment to enhancing students' skills in English, Mathematics, and other essential employability competencies.

Performance Monitoring: Regular goal setting and progress tracking will be fundamental to ensuring that all learners attain successful outcomes.


Teaching Excellence: Deliver high-quality instruction in alignment with established institutional standards and relevant accrediting bodies. This includes preparing educational materials, developing lesson plans, and implementing curriculum revisions. You will also collaborate with the Department Head on quality assurance processes, assess students' written and practical assignments, and monitor their progress through regular evaluations of Individual Learning Plans, while maintaining communication with parents, guardians, and relevant agencies.

Classroom Management: It is essential to uphold a conducive learning environment, adhering to statutory requirements such as safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety regulations.


  • Course Management: Handle daily course administration, including communication, problem resolution, compliance checks, timetable adjustments, and arranging cover for lessons as needed. You will also coordinate work experience and enrichment activities, manage internal verification schedules, and liaise with various departments to ensure consistency across locations.
  • Enrollment Support: Assist in the recruitment and selection of candidates for courses, effectively managing enrollment processes, including qualifications assessment and late registrations, to ensure students are placed in appropriate programs.
  • Student Meetings: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with students to set and review SMART objectives, provide support for UCAS references, and address both academic and personal needs, collaborating with cross-college services as necessary.
  • Attendance and Performance Monitoring: Track student attendance and performance metrics, including managing registers and exam entries, and develop action plans to address attendance, retention, and achievement issues.
  • Support for English and Maths: Promote and facilitate English and Maths learning both in group settings and individually, monitoring student engagement and transitions to relevant lessons.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Participate in meetings, including staff gatherings, parent consultations, and marketing events, ensuring effective communication and planning for these engagements.
  • Course Development: Collaborate with colleagues to enhance course offerings, teaching methodologies, and materials, participating in professional development activities and peer observations to foster growth and adherence to institutional policies.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with departmental administration, including timely attendance tracking, updating student performance records, and managing content on the institution's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Quality Assurance Participation: Engage in relevant institutional meetings, committees, and quality assurance processes, including course reviews and self-assessment activities.
