Role Overview
As an Instructor in Plumbing Studies, you will oversee the implementation of designated educational programs at MidKent College. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional instruction while managing daily operational tasks, assessments, and scheduling. You will play a crucial role in motivating and engaging students, ensuring they achieve their highest potential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver Exceptional Instruction: Provide high-quality teaching in line with established college standards. Prepare instructional materials, develop lesson plans, and enhance the curriculum. Collaborate with the Head of Department for quality assurance and assess students' work while maintaining a conducive learning environment.
  2. Course Management: Handle daily course operations, including communication, problem-solving, and scheduling adjustments. Organize work experience and enrichment activities while ensuring compliance across multiple sites.
  3. Student Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment process by managing enrollment procedures and ensuring students are placed in appropriate courses. Support the organization of induction programs for new students.
  4. Student Support: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with students to set and review achievable targets. Provide guidance on academic and personal matters, collaborating with cross-college services as needed.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Track student attendance and performance metrics, coordinating course evaluations and developing action plans for improvement.
  6. Promote Skills Development: Encourage the enhancement of English and Maths skills within the classroom and through individual support.
  7. Engagement in College Activities: Participate in meetings, parent consultations, and marketing events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  8. Collaboration with Colleagues: Work alongside fellow educators to develop innovative courses and training materials, participating in professional development activities.
  9. Administrative Duties: Manage departmental administration tasks, including attendance tracking and reporting on student outcomes.
  10. Quality Assurance Participation: Engage in college committees and quality assurance processes to maintain high educational standards.

Expectations for All Staff
  1. Complete mandatory professional development annually.
  2. Travel between college sites as required.
  3. Be prepared for evening and weekend work as necessary.
  4. Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of students.
  5. Maintain appropriate relationships with students.
