Night Hygiene Operations Supervisor

Overview of the Position:

Working Schedule:
43 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday (22:00-07:00)
Role Responsibilities:
As a Process Supervisor, you will operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that is critical for maintaining hygiene standards in the production of short shelf-life products.
- Assess hygiene staffing levels and manage the planning and implementation of work schedules.
- Ensure all necessary information is recorded in the TMS system in the absence of the Hygiene Manager.
- Conduct deep cleaning of production and hygiene equipment according to the established cleaning schedule.
- Collaborate with Departmental Managers to adjust the production plan and ensure hygiene resources meet cleaning requirements.
- Guarantee that all hygiene standards are communicated and upheld, ensuring compliance with cleaning schedules.
- Uphold all company policies and procedures within the hygiene department.
- Review swab results and investigate recurring issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Work with the Engineering department to address outstanding repairs and ensure post-maintenance cleaning is completed to standard.
- Facilitate effective handovers between shifts, documenting all issues in the hygiene shift report.
- Ensure proper chemical application and quantities are used, including conducting chemical titration checks.
- Manage the availability of hygiene equipment to meet operational demands.
- Provide cover for the Hygiene Manager during absences.
- Oversee hygiene audits and ensure feedback is provided for improvements and corrective actions.
Qualifications for Success:
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative.
- Familiarity with working in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of BRCGS standards.
Desirable:
- Basic understanding of food microbiology.
- Experience in the poultry processing sector.
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
