NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Improvement Lead to champion the well-being of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within our region.

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving collaborative partnerships between local agencies and organizations. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that all services provided to SEND individuals meet the highest standards of care and support.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership to local area partnerships, fostering a culture of shared responsibility and accountability for improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including schools, health services, social care providers, and families, to develop and implement effective strategies that address the unique needs of each individual.
  • Represent the Integrated Care Board in national and local SEND forums, advocating for the interests of children and young people with SEND and promoting best practice across the region.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within local area partnerships, utilizing data-driven insights to identify areas for growth and development.
  • Act as a role model, embodying the values and vision of the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board, fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
Your Profile

We are seeking an individual with a strong clinical background and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with SEND.

  • You will possess a relevant clinical qualification, such as RN Child, RN Learning Disability, SCPHN, or Therapist (OT, Physio, Speech and Language), coupled with current professional registration.
  • A first degree or equivalent demonstrable experience is essential, along with evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Your extensive experience working in a clinical setting with children and young people with SEND, including management responsibilities, will be highly valued.
  • You are a skilled communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • A proven track record of developing and delivering training to multi-agency/professional groups is essential.
