About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Nurse or Paramedic to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to detainees in our custody suites.

With a strong focus on patient-centered care, you will work closely with the police and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional healthcare services. Your expertise will be invaluable in assessing and caring for detainees, as well as providing support and guidance to staff.

Job Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. Your acute medical healthcare experience will be essential in providing high-quality care to detainees.

Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centers, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, or prison settings would be highly beneficial. However, we are committed to providing training and support to help you develop your skills and expertise in forensic healthcare.

Hours of Work

We offer a 4-on-4-off rota pattern, providing a great work-life balance and allowing you to plan your personal life months in advance. You will work in the Abingdon Custody Suite, Colwell Drive, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 1AU.

Duties Include
  • Forensic sampling, including road traffic offense bloods.
  • Signposting and conducting referrals, offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies.
  • Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Acute disease management.
  • Promoting good personal healthcare.
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.
Essential Skills
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Acute medical healthcare experience.
