Job Summary

The Cashier and Customer Service Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service and processing transactions at the checkout counter. This role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Project a positive and friendly demeanor to provide excellent customer service.
  • Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thanking them by name when possible.
  • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
  • Answer and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
  • Build product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product location.

Register Operations

  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Balance the register drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to all cash handling procedures and policies.
  • Participate in store meetings and training sessions.

Front End Appearance and Upkeep

  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including the entrance doors and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with stocking and facing merchandise, including impulse counters and seasonal displays.
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies are stocked and available.
  • Participate in decorating the front end area according to company standards.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Cashier experience preferred, but not required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs.

Compensation

$12 - $14 per hour
