Job Title: Procurement Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading a team of procurement specialists and developing strategies to support production growth, improve quality, and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement category specialists to achieve strategic sourcing and category management goals.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support production growth, improve quality, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design and quality control, to ensure effective procurement processes.
  • Oversee strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and risk management to ensure best value for the company.
  • Identify new sourcing opportunities and rationalize the current supply base to drive cost efficiencies.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights for upcoming development programs.
  • Support the team in negotiations and resolving supply issues during part development.
  • Prepare reports and present to senior management on category performance.
  • Represent the procurement department in high-level meetings both internally and externally.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Extensive procurement or commodity management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on long-term strategic goals.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Desirable:
  • Familiarity with AS400 and Infor LN systems.
