Procurement Category Manager

Barclay Meade is seeking a seasoned Procurement Category Manager to lead our procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category management strategies that support our production growth, improve quality, and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of procurement specialists to achieve category management goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to support production growth and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Oversee supplier relationships, risk management, and contract negotiations.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights to inform procurement decisions.
  • Support the team in negotiations and resolving supply issues.
  • Prepare reports and present to senior management on category performance.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Extensive procurement or commodity management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on long-term strategic goals.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with AS400 and Infor LN systems.
