The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in commodity management within manufacturing, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a strong track record in supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Procurement Category Specialists to achieve strategic sourcing goals.
- Develop and implement category management strategies to support production growth, improve quality, and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design and quality control, to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and risk management to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Analyse market trends and provide insights for upcoming development programs to inform procurement decisions.
- Support the team in negotiations and resolving supply issues during part development to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare reports and present to senior management on category performance to inform business decisions.
- Represent the department in high-level meetings both internally and externally to promote procurement best practices.
- A degree in Business or Engineering with a strong foundation in procurement principles.
- Extensive procurement or commodity management experience in a manufacturing setting with a proven track record of success.
- Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on long-term strategic goals and flexibility to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Familiarity with AS400 and Infor LN systems to leverage technology in procurement processes.
