We are seeking a Senior Pig Stockperson to become a vital part of our agricultural operation in North Yorkshire. Our establishment, which spans across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is dedicated to the ethical breeding and raising of pigs, adhering to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing operations in a large indoor nursery with a capacity of 5,000, a finishing unit for 7,000 pigs, and a breeding sow unit housing 1,000 sows.
  • Providing support in the breeding unit as required.
  • Carrying out essential daily tasks including feeding, vaccinating, moving, handling, loading, and unloading livestock.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of pig data.
  • Upholding the farm's standards of cleanliness and overall condition.
  • Utilizing farm machinery and equipment effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing a large nursery and finishing unit is preferred.
  • Familiarity with wet feed systems is a plus.
  • A strong passion for the pig industry and commitment to animal welfare.
  • Experience in farrowing house operations is desirable.
  • Exceptional prioritization and attention to detail are essential.
  • Self-driven with a robust work ethic and a desire to excel.
  • Personal transportation is necessary due to the rural setting.

Compensation: £35,000 - £38,000 based on experience.
