Job Title: Team Leader

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our team of professionals supporting children and young people on an Adoption, Special Guardianship or Child Arrangement Order.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection, and court processes. The successful candidate will have substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and families, as well as an understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a highly skilled and long-standing team of professionals supporting children and young people on an Adoption, Special Guardianship or Child Arrangement Order.
  • Manage the Birth Records Counselling service, sharing birth information before adoption, to adult adoptees.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support the needs of children and families.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and families.
  • Experience of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of professionals.
