Financial Assistant

Contractual Opportunity

Location: East Kilbride

Iconic Resourcing is pleased to collaborate with our esteemed clients who are seeking to integrate a Financial Assistant into their finance team on a contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and categorize incoming purchase invoices accurately.
  • Ensure timely payments to all vendors in accordance with agreed credit terms.
  • Generate purchase orders and perform reconciliations of supplier accounts.
  • Input all sales invoices into the designated sales ledger, ensuring correct VAT application, and distribute invoices to clients.
  • Manage the processing of sales receipts and maintain alignment between the sales ledger and nominal ledger.
  • Identify and follow up on debts approaching their due dates to secure outstanding payments.
  • Prepare, review, and execute bi-weekly payment runs.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Handle cash allocation tasks as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany reconciliations, journal drafting, and VAT return preparation.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in monthly management accounting and the month-end closing process.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and payable, banking operations, and related controls.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Capability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Skill in prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
