Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Based in East Kilbride, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Brickwork Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the site and project surveyors in the development and implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions, and contract reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting subcontractor procurement exercises to obtain best value, including the production of sub-contractor documentation in line with our framework standards.
- Producing and submitting interim and final accounts to clients, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Evaluating and certifying Sub-contractor payments through our ordering and financial systems.
- Providing daily supervision of the Commercial Administrator, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with standards and procedures in respect of Commercial activities, maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy.
- Agreeing final accounts and implementing commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlement is realised.
- Monthly cost and value reconciliation & management, working within strict deadlines required under the contract and by the company.
- Ad hoc commercial duties as required by the job, including degree-level work and travel/driving to sites.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with a strong understanding of commercial practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply commercial data.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
