Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Act and Finance Officer to join our team at St Neots Hospital. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our finance and legal processes related to mental health care.

  • Mental Health Expertise: You will possess a comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and relevant legislation governing mental health care.
  • Financial Administration: Your responsibilities will include invoicing patients for enhanced support services, managing petty cash, and overseeing client fund accounts with accuracy and diligence.
  • Patient Liaison: You will effectively communicate with patients, families, and carers, providing clear information and guidance regarding financial matters and legal processes related to their care.
  • Documentation and Compliance: You will assist in preparing DoLS paperwork and documentation, ensuring strict adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Administrative Support: Your organizational skills will be essential for organizing and servicing meetings, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge of the Mental Health Act and related legal frameworks.
  • Experience in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear and empathetic interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
