Mental Health Act and Finance Coordinator

About the Role
Elysium Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Act and Finance Administrator to join our team at St Neots Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating Mental Health Review Tribunals, Section Renewals, and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users.
Within this role, you will also supervise the financial administration of the unit's Client Fund Account, petty cash float, and safety deposit facility through the effective and efficient application of local procedures and processes.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act, and any subsequent legislation
- Ensuring that invoicing of patients' enhanced support is completed and submitted to head office
- Managing the deposit of cash, cheques, and other receipts and the withdrawal of funds required to sustain a substantial petty cash float
- Regularly liaising with patients, their families, and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, and then liaising with the social worker to provide assistance and information to enable patients to claim statutory benefits and access personal banking facilities
- Assisting the social worker with the accurate and timely completion, processing, and monitoring of the DoLS paperwork
- Ensuring patients, their relatives, legal representatives, and official agencies are provided with the information and documentation required to effect the detention, registration, and admission of an individual under the provisions of the MHA
- Organising and servicing all associated meetings, ensuring the effective and timely production, collation, and distribution of reports, minutes, and other relevant documentation
- Ensuring that all information and documentation is correctly processed in line with policies and procedures to meet regulatory and statutory requirements, maintaining the audit trail to provide up-to-date and accurate information as required
Requirements
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act, and any subsequent legislation
- Experience within a similar environment
- Great communication skills
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
