About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join our team at St Neots Hospital as a full-time Mental Health Act and Finance Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you will be valued and supported to achieve your career goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate Mental Health Review Tribunals, Section Renewals, and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, ensuring the preparation and arrangement of necessary paperwork.
- Supervise the financial administration of the unit's Client Fund Account, petty cash float, and safety deposit facility, applying local procedures and processes effectively.
- Collaborate with the Mental Health Act Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of patients' enhanced support and submission to head office.
- Manage the deposit and withdrawal of funds for the petty cash float, ensuring its sustainability.
- Liaise with patients, their families, and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, and assist the social worker in providing information and support.
- Process and monitor DoLS paperwork accurately and timely.
- Provide patients, relatives, and official agencies with necessary information and documentation for detention, registration, and admission under the MHA.
- Organize and service associated meetings, producing, collating, and distributing reports, minutes, and other relevant documentation effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and regulatory and statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act, and subsequent legislation.
- Experience in a similar environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
