Protec Fire Detection PLC is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Fire Alarm System Design Engineer Trainee. This exciting opportunity will provide you with invaluable experience in the design and implementation of fire alarm systems, working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.

As a Fire Alarm System Design Engineer Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of fire alarm systems that meet British Standard 5839. You will gain practical experience in various aspects of the design process, including:

  • Creating accurate quotations based on client requirements and British Standards.
  • Configuring layouts for fire sensors and related equipment.
  • Collaborating with M&E services and architectural/structural features to ensure seamless integration.
  • Assisting in the development of system schematic diagrams and design documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of fire alarm systems in compliance with British Standard 5839.
  • Contribute to the creation of accurate quotations based on client requirements and British Standards.
  • Support the configuration of layouts for fire sensors and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with M&E services and architectural/structural features during the design phase.
  • Assist in checking internal design drawings for accuracy.
  • Develop system schematic diagrams under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Prepare design documentation for commissioning.

Requirements:

  • Full Electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, etc.
  • Experience in a similar electrical engineering/design role is preferred but not essential.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various professionals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft computer packages.
