Fire Detection Systems Trainee Engineer

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Fire Design Engineer to join our team at Protec Fire Detection PLC. As a Trainee Fire Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing fire alarm systems that meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design fire alarm systems in accordance with British Standard 5839, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Quotations and Estimating: Produce accurate quotations in accordance with client requirements and British Standards, providing detailed estimates and proposals for fire alarm system installations.
- System Design and Configuration: Layout design and configuration of fire sensors and associated equipment, ensuring optimal system performance and efficiency.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate layout of equipment with other M&E services and architectural/structural features, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise with Sales Managers/Sales Engineers throughout the design process, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet client needs.
- Design Documentation: Prepare accurate and detailed design documentation, ready for commissioning and handover to clients.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in internal checking of design drawings, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance system design and performance.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, etc.
- Experience: Experience in a similar electrical engineering/design role, with a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and industry regulations.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent eye for detail, ability to work with a variety of contractors, architects, and other personnel, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and creative thinking with the ability to see and implement practical solutions.
- Other: Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, a full and valid driving license (desirable).
