Job Description

**Job Title:** Trainee Fire Design Engineer

**Company:** Protec Fire Detection PLC

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Fire Design Engineer to join our team. As a Trainee Fire Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire alarm systems in accordance with British Standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and layout of fire alarm systems, including the configuration of fire sensors and associated equipment.
  • Coordinate with other M&E services and architectural/structural features to ensure seamless integration.
  • Liaise with Sales Managers and Sales Engineers throughout the design process.
  • Internal checking of design drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with British Standards.
  • Develop system schematic diagrams and prepare design documentation for commissioning.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the role.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience in a similar electrical engineering/design role.
  • Excellent eye for detail and ability to work with a variety of contractors, architects, and other personnel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to see and implement practical solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer packages, including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, with a full and valid driving license (desirable).
