About the Role

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Strategic Director of Research and Innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to lead the strategic development and delivery of research and innovation activity across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research and innovation strategy that aligns with the Trust's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development and management of research and innovation projects, ensuring effective collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academics, industry partners, and other healthcare organizations.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities to support research and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective governance and management of research and innovation activities.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leadership and management in research and innovation, with experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong understanding of the NHS research landscape and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
