Job Summary: The University of Leicester Recruitment Team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Centre Manager to lead the operations of the newly established British Heart Foundation (BHF) Research Excellence Centre.
About the Role: As the Centre Manager, you will play a crucial role in the setup and ongoing management of the Centre, ensuring the smooth delivery of the Research Excellence Award. You will be an integral part of the senior leadership team, contributing to the strategic development, business planning, and financial management of the Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating activities with other BHF Centres of Research Excellence
- Acting as an ambassador for the Centre, fostering strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support the Centre's growth and success
- Leading large-scale research initiatives, managing complex budgets, and providing high-level administrative support
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or equivalent qualification, with evidence of formal postgraduate courses and ongoing professional development. You should have significant experience in project management, particularly within a research environment, and a proven track record of managing staff, systems, and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Experience in a research setting, particularly in a Centre or institute, is highly desirable, as is a Project Management Qualification such as PRINCE 2.
