About the Role
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Strategic Director of Research and Innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to lead the strategic development and delivery of research and innovation activity across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive research and innovation strategy that aligns with the Trust's goals and objectives.
- Lead the development and management of research and innovation projects, ensuring effective collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and government agencies.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to research and innovation teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects and outcomes.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for research and innovation funding, ensuring the Trust remains competitive in securing grants and awards.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leadership and management in research and innovation, with a strong understanding of the NHS research landscape.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to analyze complex information and issues, with a strong understanding of research and innovation metrics and evaluation.
- Higher research degree and clinical qualification, with full registration with a relevant regulatory body and license to practice.
