About the Role
The University of Leicester is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Centre Manager to lead the operations of the newly established British Heart Foundation (BHF) Research Excellence Centre. This prestigious Centre, under the leadership of Professor Andre Ng, has been awarded £3 million over five years to advance our world-leading cardiovascular research across three primary themes: 'Discovery,' 'Interventions,' and 'Populations.'
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup and ongoing management of the Centre, ensuring the smooth delivery of the Research Excellence Award.
- Contribute to the strategic development, business planning, and financial management of the Centre.
- Manage budgets, organise seminars and symposiums, and coordinate activities with other BHF Centres of Research Excellence.
- Act as an ambassador for the Centre, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the Centre's growth and success.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or equivalent qualification, with evidence of formal postgraduate courses and ongoing professional development. You should have significant experience in project management, particularly within a research environment, and a proven track record of managing staff, systems, and procedures.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in a research setting, particularly in a Centre or institute.
- Project Management Qualification such as PRINCE 2.
