Your Role:

The Sensor & Compute team is integral to Oxa's software and platform innovation, ensuring that our autonomous vehicles can accurately perceive their surroundings and determine their location. By assessing data quality in real-time, this team enables vehicles to evaluate and anticipate their performance and safety thresholds.

As part of this team, you will be tasked with developing high-performance sensor drivers, collaborating closely with various development teams to address their requirements. We prioritize sensor quality, health, and optimal performance concerning our algorithms, ensuring that all interfaces are well-defined and thoroughly documented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate complex vehicle systems to create a cohesive environment for software development and testing on autonomous vehicles.
  • Engage in software development to facilitate hardware integration and enhance automation processes.
  • Establish and oversee the development of test bench infrastructure for performance evaluation, encompassing both hardware and software components.
  • Work hands-on with autonomous vehicles, demonstrating a strong interest in robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze test outcomes, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement necessary improvements.
  • Utilize your knowledge of self-driving car sensing technologies (e.g., LiDAR, Cameras, RADAR) to inform your work.
  • Investigate the integration of the autonomous software stack with new hardware to ensure intended functionality.
  • Leverage your data exploration expertise to maintain Oxa's high standards across all platforms.
  • Develop and execute test cases for integrated systems.
  • Comprehend safety and regulatory requirements pertinent to your role.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues for newly integrated components on test vehicles.
  • Contribute to internal documentation regarding the design, testing, and approval processes for new platforms.
  • Assist in creating user documentation for the commissioning of repeat vehicles.
  • Generate Field Bugs reports and engage in agile planning processes.
  • Contribute to the Autonomous Vehicle Daily Checklists.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the automotive, robotics, or a similar industry, particularly in Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python scripting, or similar languages for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with automotive and robotics communication protocols.
  • Understanding of key components of autonomous systems.
  • Ability to grasp complex systems and appreciate the interactions between system components and hardware interfaces.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning prototype autonomous platforms.
