Your Role:

The Sensor & Compute team is integral to Oxa's software and platform development, enabling autonomous vehicles to accurately perceive their surroundings and assess their operational performance in real-time. This team is dedicated to crafting high-performance sensor drivers and collaborating closely with various development teams to address their specific requirements. We emphasize sensor quality, health, and optimal performance in relation to our algorithms, ensuring well-defined interfaces and comprehensive support for all teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate complex vehicle systems to create a cohesive environment for software development and testing on autonomous vehicles.
  • Conduct basic software development for hardware integration and automation enhancement.
  • Establish and oversee the development of test bench infrastructure to evaluate performance across hardware and software components.
  • Engage practically with autonomous vehicles, demonstrating a strong interest in robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze test outcomes, identify performance constraints, and implement necessary improvements.
  • Utilize your knowledge of self-driving car sensing technologies (e.g., LiDAR, Cameras, RADAR) to inform your work.
  • Investigate the interplay between the autonomous software stack and new hardware to ensure intended functionality.
  • Leverage your data exploration expertise to maintain Oxa's high standards across new platforms.
  • Develop and execute test cases for these systems.
  • Understand and adhere to safety and regulatory requirements relevant to your work.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues for newly integrated components on test vehicles.
  • Contribute to internal documentation regarding the design, testing, construction, and approval of new platforms.
  • Assist in creating user documentation for the commissioning process of repeat vehicles.
  • Document field issues and participate in agile planning sessions.
  • Contribute to daily checklists for autonomous vehicles.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the automotive, robotics, or a similar industry with a focus on Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python scripting, or similar languages for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with automotive and robotics communication protocols.
  • Understanding of the fundamental components of autonomous systems.
  • Ability to comprehend complex systems and their interactions with hardware interfaces.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively across various teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning prototype autonomous platforms.
