About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our commercial delivery team, you will be responsible for assisting with the cost management of residential development schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the compilation of tender packages for sub-contract trades.
- Receive and analyze tenders, comparing prices and making recommendations.
- Issue sub-contract orders in accordance with company policy and commercial best practice.
- Liaise with the build department to monitor sub-contractor performance and compliance with order conditions.
- Assist with the production of sub-contract orders to meet site programmed build requirements.
- Provide forecast and site budget information to support business reporting requirements.
- Control and report post-contract cost movements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Process invoices and applications for payments in accordance with standard terms and conditions of contract.
- Advise management of impending claims or legal action arising from disputed claims or payments.
- Assist in determining sub-contract orders in accordance with standard terms and conditions of employment.
- Use business management systems to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, and valuations.
- Assist in reviewing materials on-site and material valuations.
- Settle variation invoices and applications for payment in accordance with standard terms and conditions of contract.
- Assist with certifying retention releases on completion of projects.
- Prepare and agree sub-contract final accounts.
- Maintain necessary systems to efficiently file and retrieve information.
- Assist with maintaining final account schedules.
- Ensure self-development and follow training plans.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Deal with queries from colleagues.
- Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other regions.
- Ensure adherence to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Report accidents or near misses immediately to management and record in the accident book.
- Ensure a tidy workplace and report hazards to management.
- Wear appropriate protective clothing on site at all times.
- Attend health and safety training as required by the company.
