Exciting Opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Clearfield Recruitment Limited is partnering with a leading company in the Construction industry to find a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying while contributing to the financial management of projects.

The Role:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the senior surveying team to manage and control costs on a variety of construction projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cost Management: Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
  • Contract Administration: Supporting the preparation and administration of contracts, including managing payments, variations, and claims.
  • Measurement and Valuation: Assisting in the measurement and valuation of works, both on-site and from drawings, ensuring accurate and fair valuations.
  • Subcontractor Management: Engaging with subcontractors, preparing tender documents, and evaluating quotes to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports, providing accurate cost forecasts and identifying potential risks.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar Assistant Quantity Surveyor role.
  • To be based within an hour's commute of Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
