Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safeguarding Specialist to join our Education Safeguarding team at Devon County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people across Devon and neighboring Local Authorities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of experience in a leading safeguarding role, with a sound understanding of safeguarding systems and a strong ability to apply national and local requirements. You will be responsible for delivering innovative training, providing advice and support to school leaders and wider teams, and representing education on partnership sub-committees and working groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training programs to support the safeguarding needs of schools and other education settings
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to school leaders and other stakeholders on safeguarding matters
  • Represent education on partnership sub-committees and working groups to promote the interests of children and young people
  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure effective safeguarding practices
