Regional Fleet Operations Engineer

Overview of the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Regional Fleet Manager by providing daily guidance to the regional fleet workshops, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and stakeholder engagement while achieving all commercial, health and safety, and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing customer needs, particularly regarding vehicle and mobile plant uptime and availability, while delivering consistently high service levels.
  • Monitoring and enhancing fleet performance across the region through the fleet management system, ensuring compliance and data integrity to maximize asset availability.
  • Driving optimal vehicle availability through continuous monitoring and utilizing feedback to implement improvements.
  • Ensuring all asset compliance aligns with current legislation and health and safety standards, while maintaining maintenance protocols as per company procedures.
  • Managing third-party service providers in accordance with service level agreements, including the creation of SLAs, rate negotiations, and invoice validation.
  • Reviewing financial and operational performance to manage assets and staff effectively, delivering profitability alongside excellent customer service.
  • Monitoring the fleet management system for accuracy, including job cards, purchase orders, and compliance data, while addressing any overdue events.
  • Actively managing business performance metrics to ensure optimal asset returns.
  • Conducting audits of health and safety practices within the region, ensuring compliance with company standards and monitoring completion of necessary documentation.
  • Fostering teamwork and inspiring individuals to collaborate towards shared objectives, while managing performance to achieve outstanding business results.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant technical qualifications.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Management experience in a B2B service delivery environment.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the fleet sector.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance in accordance with DVSA roadworthiness guidelines.
  • Operational understanding of workshop practices, including health and safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Operators License.
  • Awareness of workshop procedures and DVSA testing protocols.
  • Keeping updated with technical and legislative changes.
  • Strong understanding of MOT inspection standards.
  • Experience managing in a labor-intensive, multi-shift setting.
