Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a reliable transport service for all clients, ensuring their comfort and secure travel in accordance with established policies and best practices.
  • Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition, including daily and weekly safety checks.
  • Documenting any vehicle defects and reporting them promptly.
  • Operating vehicles in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and organizational procedures.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of all vehicles, both internally and externally.
  • Utilizing cleaning equipment safely and ensuring proper maintenance of storage facilities.
  • Assisting with minor vehicle repairs under the guidance of Transport Officers.
  • Supporting depot staff in loading, unloading, and securing goods as directed.
  • Providing assistance to passengers, including helping them board and disembark safely, and securing wheelchairs with safety restraints.
  • Managing seating arrangements to ensure adequate capacity for all passengers.
  • Ensuring the safety and dignity of all service users, reporting any incidents or concerns to the appropriate authority.
  • Assisting service users at their homes or care facilities as needed.
  • Adhering to scheduled routes and maintaining accurate records of driving, incidents, and passenger usage as required by law and organizational policies.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, service users, and the public, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Participating in meal service operations, including handling cash and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Providing geographical insights to facilitate efficient route planning and scheduling.
  • Reporting any vehicle-related incidents and completing necessary documentation promptly.
  • Responding to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Returning vehicles as instructed by the transport management team.

Contract Type: This position operates on a flexible contract basis.
