Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout our campus, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for students and staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Cleaning Operations: The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking general cleaning duties, including cleaning of floors, toilets, windows, furniture, and fittings, emptying bins and other receptacles, and removal of rubbish.
  • Facility Maintenance: The candidate will be responsible for checking that all cleaning equipment is safe to use before starting work and reporting any defects immediately. They will also ensure that all cleaning equipment, including machinery, is cleaned and returned to designated storerooms in a safe and tidy manner after use.
  • Waste Management: The candidate will be responsible for emptying waste bins and receptacles, ensuring they are disinfected and free from smears and odors, and ensuring the safe segregation and disposal of rubbish in accordance with procedures.
  • Health and Safety: The candidate will be responsible for demonstrating their commitment to GBS's Health and Safety responsibilities, ensuring their contribution to a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a cleaning role in commercial premises.
  • Cleaning Knowledge: The candidate will have practical knowledge of using professional chemical products and cleaning aids on various surfaces.
  • Customer Focus: The candidate will have experience of working in a customer-focused environment and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all types of people.
  • Flexibility: The candidate will be flexible and proactive in their approach to work, with a can-do attitude.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: The candidate will have basic knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for the equipment and chemicals being used.
