Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities Management team at City Facilities Management. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out minor general and fabric maintenance tasks, as well as planned and reactive maintenance across multiple stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled, including fire alarm call point tests, water temperature checks, and shower spray head clean and chlorination.
  • Perform minor building fabric repairs, including decorating tasks and minor plumbing and joinery repairs.
  • Conduct weekly store defrost programs and complete minor general ad-hoc tasks.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.
  • Report to the Multi-Site Technician and receive training as needed to achieve competency in maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • A broad range of practical skills and experience in a trade, including the ability to complete tasks within a pre-determined timescale.
  • Positive and proactive approach, with good customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation and the ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • IT skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and email software.
  • Full UK driver's license for roles covering 3+ stores.
  • Physical fitness, including the ability to move and lift heavy items and use ladders.
