Job Summary:

Hertfordshire Catering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chef Manager to lead our school meals service at Copthall School in Mill Hill. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and managing the catering team to ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals, including special dietary requirements, to meet the needs of students and staff.
  • Oversee cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining area to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and budgeting to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Management Systems and maintain Health and Safety compliance.
  • Lead and motivate the catering team to achieve high standards of service delivery.
  • Develop and implement innovative menus and food concepts to meet customer needs and preferences.
  • Market and promote the catering service to drive sales and improve customer engagement.
  • Conduct recruitment, induction, and on-the-job training to ensure staff are motivated and developed to their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of food safety and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • IT literacy and ability to use software applications relevant to the role.
  • Valid Enhanced Children's DBS check and right to work in the UK.
