About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and cooking of meals to the highest standard for both our restaurants and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize the preparation and cooking of meals to meet the required standards, including special diets and function work.
  • Ensure the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef, Deputy Kitchen Manager, and Kitchen Manager to ensure the food is presented to the highest standard.
  • Plan and cost menus, and assist with the placement of provisions and other orders.
  • Assist with staff rotas and observe all relevant Trust processes.
  • Ensure the economical and correct use of all materials and equipment.
  • Observe correct and safe working procedures in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in a similar environment, who is self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision, and has good customer care skills. The ideal candidate will have a good level of education, a recognized supervisory qualification, and a Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate.

They will also have a good command of spoken and written English, and relevant chef qualifications (NVQ 3 or equivalent). A Level 4 Food Hygiene certificate and Health & Safety Training would be desirable.
