About this Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with experience of teaching ESOL to join our team as a Part-time Adult Learning Tutor.

The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching both accredited and non-accredited provision up to, and including, level 2 qualifications (including ESOL Skills for Life). They will be able to adapt and respond positively to emerging learner and local needs, and work a variety of hours across the working week, including evenings.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, as would the ability to work in partnership with the Refugee Resettlement Team to provide excellent teaching and learning opportunities to resettled learners arriving in Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach ESOL to learners of varying levels and abilities
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet the needs of learners
  • Assess learner progress and provide feedback
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Tutor Team to promote the service and provide excellent teaching and learning opportunities

Requirements:

  • Experience of teaching ESOL
  • Ability to adapt to changing learner and local needs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings
