About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated ESOL tutor to join our team at The Cumbria County Council. As a part-time adult learning tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to ESOL learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESOL classes to learners of various levels, including accredited and non-accredited provision up to level 2 qualifications.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with the Refugee Resettlement Team to provide excellent teaching and learning opportunities to resettled learners.
  • Contribute to the development of a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that promotes learner success.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of teaching ESOL, ideally with a focus on accredited and non-accredited provision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with learners, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to emerging learner and local needs, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Basic DBS check.
