On behalf of Line Up Aviation, we are looking for a skilled AIT Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.

Your role will involve assisting in the development of processes, plans, and procedures within a 3D experience environment for the assembly of Satellites and Payloads.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the hardware assembly of critical components such as Black Boxes, Solar Arrays, and Structural Panels.
  • Assist in the environmental testing of Satellites.

Position:
AIT Mechanical Engineer

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate

Working Hours:
Standard workweek with potential for shift work
Contract Duration:
Initial contract with potential for extension

Project Preparation Phase:
  • Contribute to the customization phase from project initiation.
  • Participate in Digital Mock-Up (DMU) sessions to ensure manufacturability.
  • Lead the installation of Satellite appendages and manage integration workflows.

Operational Phase:
  • Provide support to the AIT Lead Engineering team during peak workloads.
  • Oversee unit installation tasks on the Satellite.
  • Conduct quality reviews and perform PFMEA and Root Cause Analysis.

Non-Project Responsibilities:
  • Design tooling and build aids to facilitate assembly.
  • Create and maintain training modules.
  • Develop new processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical skills and relevant experience.
  • Proficient in writing procedures and process controls.
  • Detail-oriented with a quality-driven mindset.
  • Experience in producing high-quality documentation, including test specifications and AIT plans.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Good planning skills and familiarity with MRP systems.
  • Understanding of satellite integration processes and project phases.
  • Experience with the installation of Satellite appendages.
  • Knowledge of complex mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques, including 5S and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in preparing and conducting environmental tests at various levels.
  • Ability to handle and install thermal hardware.
  • Experience in the mechanical integration of electronic units and subsystems.

Education:
Minimum of HNC level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
