The Operations and Business Change Analyst will play a crucial role within the Operations team, delivering analytical insights, managing defects, and overseeing changes in the insurance underwriting and policy administration systems. This position also encompasses administrative support related to risk and compliance.

In collaboration with the business and various stakeholders, you will assess Defect and Small Change requirements, refine specifications, and document testing criteria. You will prepare Change Requests and quotes from different system providers, present changes at the Change Advisory Board, and coordinate the implementation of changes with system providers. Additionally, you will conduct testing prior to releasing changes for final validation by the business and other stakeholders.

At times, the Operations and Business Change Analyst may also assist with major change initiatives and other risk, compliance, and operational tasks as necessary.

Strong organizational skills are essential, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working under pressure within established frameworks. The ideal candidate will be positive, innovative, and collaborative, striving to deliver exceptional service to the business while utilizing both analytical and creative problem-solving skills to address the organization's change needs.

You should be capable of working independently in your daily responsibilities, operating with a degree of autonomy within the defined Change Management Framework. Engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business representatives, senior leadership, internal support teams, finance, and suppliers, is vital for ensuring successful change delivery.

You will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in insurance underwriting and policy administration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and log Defect Reports and Change Requests in accordance with established processes.
  • Evaluate Change Requests and determine the appropriate approval pathway.
  • Document Change requirements, conduct impact analysis, and outline testing criteria.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings at the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Oversee implementation, release for business testing, and manage any defects.
  • Track and manage post-implementation reviews and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain a technical debt register and Change Request backlog, reporting to CAB.
  • Effectively communicate and report issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst is essential.
  • Proficiency in IT Change Management.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or other workflow and reporting management tools.
  • Previous experience in risk and/or compliance roles.
  • Understanding of Change Management processes.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
