Job Title: Support Worker for Young Person with Autism

UKCIL Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide support to a 15-year-old boy with Autism.

Filip is a happy and verbal young person who requires close supervision due to his tendency to run off and his potentially challenging behaviours. He enjoys books, music, lights, going to local parks, swimming, and walks.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs and demonstrate knowledge of support strategies in areas such as thinking, understanding, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide close supervision and support to Filip during term time and school holidays
  • Assist with daily activities, such as going to local parks, swimming, and walks
  • Support Filip with his interests, such as reading, music, and lights
  • Work with Filip to develop strategies to manage his challenging behaviours
  • Communicate effectively with Filip's family and other professionals involved in his care

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Demonstrable knowledge of support strategies in areas such as thinking, understanding, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges
  • Ability to work closely with Filip and his family to develop a support plan
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
