Job Title: Support Worker for Young Person with Autism

UKCIL Ltd is seeking a Support Worker to provide assistance to a 15-year-old boy with Autism in Leeds.

The successful candidate will work 6 hours per week during term time and 16 hours during school holidays to support the young person with daily tasks, leisure activities, and educational needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs and possess demonstrable knowledge of support strategies in areas such as thinking, understanding, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the young person with Autism
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as personal care and household chores
  • Support the young person with leisure activities, such as swimming and walks
  • Help with educational needs, including homework and learning strategies

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Demonstrable knowledge of support strategies in areas such as thinking, understanding, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
