Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at UKCIL. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting a young boy with Autism in his daily life.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to the young boy, enabling him to access social and leisure activities, develop his independence and social skills, and participate in daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the young boy in accessing social and leisure activities, such as trampoline parks, soft play, and park visits.
  • Assist with daily routines, including toileting and using the self-checkout.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to the young boy in anxious situations.
  • Supervise the young boy at all times to ensure his safety.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, challenging behavior, and Autism awareness.

Requirements:

  • Age 18+
  • Reliable and committed to ensuring the young person's happiness, safety, and well-being.
  • Experience of working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours:

4 hours per week, weekend, term-time, with additional hours during school holidays.

Hourly Rate:

£12.40 per hour (gross), with 5.6 weeks' pro-rata holiday pay per annum.
