About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at UKCIL to provide personal assistance to a young boy with Autism in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to the young person, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities.
  • Accompany the young person to social and leisure activities, such as trampoline parks, soft play, and park visits.
  • Use a backpack with reins to ensure the young person's safety and well-being when out in public.
  • Support the young person in developing their independence and social skills.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to the young person, particularly in situations that may cause anxiety.
Requirements
  • Age 18+
  • Reliable and committed to ensuring the young person's happiness, safety, and well-being.
  • Experience of working with children, particularly those with Autism or SEND.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to commit to 4 hours of support per week, with additional hours during school holidays.
Training and Support

As a Support Worker with UKCIL, you will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure you have the skills and confidence to provide high-quality care and support to the young person.

You will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as safeguarding, challenging behavior, and Autism awareness.
