About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Inequalities Lead to join our Secure Care team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to secure care in BSMHFT and to the REACHOUT partners in MPFT and St Andrews Healthcare to evaluate the inequalities in Secure care.
  • Promote equality as defined within the Equality Act and coproduce work to reduce inequalities between patients who access services.
  • Advise on how services can be provided to reduce health inequalities.
  • Lead and arrange relevant events and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Maintain and update the Project plan and associated project documentation.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and attend additional working groups as and when required.
  • Make decisions within delegated authority, on behalf of the relevant Secure Care project leads.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Registered Professional
  • Evidence of being able to communicate with and engage front line clinical staff, clinical leaders, service users and carers where there may be barriers to understanding
  • Evidence of contribution to practice and service development and the ability to translate strategic intent into operational reality
  • Understanding of equal opportunities policies, including dynamics of disability, sexism, racism
  • Extensive highly developed specialist knowledge across clinical speciality and a range of clinical areas
  • Significant professional leadership, especially professional development, clinical governance and supervision and appraisal
