We are seeking a highly specialist clinical psychologist to join our dynamic team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Health in Mind service, you will contribute to the provision of psychological assessment and intervention to children, young people, and families accessing support through our service.
Main Responsibilities- Service Development: Support the development of work streams, waiting list initiatives, and clinical pathways within the Health in Mind team and across the Trust.
- Training and Development: Deliver training and development programs for staff in Health in Mind and across the Trust, focusing on therapeutic interventions, single session consultation, and tiered models to promote timely care and reduce health inequalities.
- Leadership and Service Improvement: Contribute to the leadership and development of services and pathways within the Health in Mind team and allocated streams, driving innovation and improvement in service delivery.
- Caseload Management: Hold a caseload of patients, including children, young people, parents, and families, providing high-quality psychological assessment and intervention.
- Transformation Projects: Lead transformation projects to innovate and improve service delivery, aligning with the Trust's vision for trauma-informed, preventative, and psychologically minded patient care.

Requirements- Clinical Psychology Doctorate
- HCPC Practitioner Psychologist Status
- Leadership or management course
- Experience of working with children and adolescents
- Experience of working in an acute physical health setting
- Experience of managing staff and leadership
- Experience of leading in emotional or conflictual situations
- Knowledge of working inclusively with children, young people, and their families
- Understanding of literature and guidelines
- Ability to prepare business cases and SOPs
- Confidence and experience of using Microsoft systems
- Confidence and experience of using digital platforms to aid communication and connection
- Use of IT in undertaking governance and Datix reports as needed
- Ability to make decisions in pressured situations
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt within a changing NHS environment
- Awareness of factors contributing to team ethos and wellbeing
- Ability to assimilate a lot of information in a fast-paced, highly emotive environment
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Ability to produce reports and respond to deadlines
- Ability to liaise with MDT and wider medical/surgical teams
- Evidence of good rapport with colleagues
- Good report writing skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with complex and changing demands
