Nuclear Safety Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Inspector with a focus on Human Factors to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a Nuclear Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of nuclear facilities and promoting a culture of safety within the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and assessments of nuclear facilities to identify potential safety risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate safety risks and improve safety performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including licensees, industry experts, and other regulatory bodies, to share best practices and promote a culture of safety.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on Human Factors and safety-related matters to support the development of safety cases and regulatory decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Human Factors and safety research, and apply this knowledge to inform regulatory decisions and improve safety performance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good honours degree in a relevant field, such as Human Factors, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, such as the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
- Proven experience in a safety-related role, with a focus on Human Factors and nuclear safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
