Job Description

Nuclear Safety Inspector - Control and Instrumentation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Inspector to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a Control and Instrumentation (C&I) specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and inspecting the adequacy of C&I systems in nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and assessments of C&I systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to nuclear site licensees on C&I system design, installation, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to develop and implement effective safety standards
  • Contribute to the development of technical guidance and policy documents related to C&I systems

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as engineering or physics
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology
  • Proven experience in the nuclear industry, with a focus on C&I systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively
