Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our client's finance team in Thame, Oxfordshire. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial part in supporting the smooth and effective operation of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage daily banking activities, including online banking, fund transfers, and electronic payments.
  • Handle general enquiries and resolve internal queries efficiently.
  • Reconcile bank, petty cash, and general ledgers to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Process client billing accounts receivable and issue cheques as required.
  • Paying interest on client account monies and assisting with supplier payments.
  • Perform general administration and housekeeping tasks, including file and ledger management.
  • Communicate with the bank regarding queries and cheque cancellations.
  • Reconcile control accounts as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in general accounting procedures in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules in a legal practice.
  • Credit control experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • A methodical approach to work and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A committed team-worker with a strong work ethic.
