Job Description

The University of Birmingham is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Estates to lead the Estates Division and play a key role in shaping and delivering the University's ambitious Campus Vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Estates Division and provide strategic advice to the University Executive Board
  • Develop and deliver the Campus Masterplan and major capital projects
  • Oversee the University's estate, comprising over 600 acres and 200 buildings
  • Collaborate with staff, students, partners, and neighbours to achieve the 2045 Campus Vision
  • Lead a team of c.200 staff and manage significant financial resources

About the Role:

The Director of Estates will be a key member of the University's leadership team, responsible for delivering the Campus Vision and leading the Estates Division to excellence. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering major capital programmes and setting a clear vision for their team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in estates leadership roles within large, complex industry-leading organisations
  • Track record of delivering major capital programmes and setting a clear vision
  • Collaborative team player with excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team to deliver excellence
